The story behind FitPit Zanzibar
FitPit began in Finland with a simple and powerful mission to make learning how to swim feel safe, joyful, and accessible for every age. Over the years, FitPit Oy(Finland) built a strong reputation for structured coaching and swimming experiences that people genuinely remember and trust.
Zanzibar was a natural next step. Here the ocean is part of everyday life, and swimming is not just a hobby but an essential life skill. FitPit Zanzibar was born from the belief that everyone deserves to feel confident and secure in the water.
FitPit Zanzibar brings together Nordic-level professionalism and the island’s unique energy, creating a supportive learning environment where people feel welcome from the first moment they arrive.
We are here to build a strong and lasting swim community, a trusted local team and a safe space to grow. One stroke at a time.
Impact created
2021: FitPit Zanzibar launched by training 3 swimming teachers and providing swimming lessons to 40 students, laying the foundation for safe and structured swimming skills.
2023: Expanded significantly by training 40 swimming teachers and teaching 150 swimming students, strengthening local capacity and access to swimming skills across the community.
2026: We are operating locally!
